FOSS Talk Live
FOSS Talk Live 2017 will take place on June 24th, 2017. The schedule says that the show will run from 6 pm to 11 pm, but I have heard that the show can go longer. It will be located at the Harrison, a pub/hotel/live venue near Kings Cross in London. The show will consist of live recordings session for the Linux Voice, Ubuntu Podcast, Late Night Linux podcasts. There will also be a show featuring Stuart Langridge, Dave Megaslippers, and others.
This show is not recommended for kids. Mainly because it takes place in a pub and hs been known to get a bit rowdy. So, be forewarned.
The show is free, with the option to toss a few quid in a bucket. Tickets were available earlier on the website, but are now unavailable. Like I said, the show is free, but since the venue is small those with tickets will be given priority over others. Joe from Late Night Linux said that even though the tickets are gone, you should be able to find room if you show up. If you can’t make it the recordings from the show will be available on the website.
According to their website, OggCamp “is a Free Culture Unconference”. Originally created as a joint effort between Linux Outlaws and the Ubuntu Podcast. It is now the biggest free software and free culture event in the UK.
This year’s OggCamp will run from August 19th to 20th and be located at Canterbury Christ Church University in Canterbury, Kent, UK. It will consist of “scheduled and unscheduled talks, hardware hacking, exhibitors and social events.”
The event is free, but the organizers recommend that you get a ticket, so they have an idea of how many people to expect. They also have an option to get a ticket for a donation.
If you live in the UK, I’d recommend checking out one of these shows.
