Brief: System76 has announced a new Ubuntu-powered ultrabook: Galago Pro. Looking at the design and specification, it surely looks like a premium laptop competing with Dell XPS 13 Ubuntu edition.

System76, a US-based computer vendor, is known for its exclusive Ubuntu based laptops and desktops. In addition to that, System76 also deals in Linux servers.

Galago Pro is the latest offering from System76 and this ultrabook has everything (at least on paper) to make it the best Ubuntu laptop you can buy.

Unlike its previous notebooks, Galago Pro ditches plastic body for aluminum alloy. It’s sleeker than the rest as well. Weighing just 1.3 Kg, Galago Pro have everything you would expect in an ultrabook.

Pricing and release date of Galago Pro

The price for the basic model starts at $899. The price will increase if you select higher configuration.

      • I was interested to buy one and asked the company and that’s the answer the company gave me. I bought a Galago UltraPro in 2013 and the battery life is at most 3 hours.

        • Batteries are heavy. Frankly, I’d trade an “always-inside” battery for an external for the rare days I need it. If the 3 hours really isn’t the industry standard of “1.5 hours in disguise”, then 3 hours is good enough for me.
