Great news for Linux lovers. Popular computer game sale and distribution platform GOG.com has announced the plan to release over 100 game titles for Linux by this fall. This means you’ll have more options while downloading Linux games.
These titles will include games that already have Linux client available as well as some of the classic PC games, as announced by GOG.com:
…going to include games that we sell which already have Linux clients, but we’ll also be bringing Linux gamers a variety of classics that are, for the first time, officially supported and maintained by a storefront like ours…
We’re initially going to be launching our Linux support on GOG.com with the full GOG.com treatment for Ubuntu and Mint.
No information about the games titles is available at present but this is still a big step into the future of Linux gaming. Steam will definitely be getting some competition from GOG.com in Linux world but at the end of the day, Linux user will be the winner. Don’t you agree?
