When you think mini-pc, like the best mini PCs of 2015, you think of relatively low-powered systems because of the limited size. That’s not true of the CL100.
CL 100 Features
Inside its strong cast aluminum case, the CL100 rocks an Intel Quad Core Braswell CPU, Intel HD graphics, and support for up to 16 GB of RAM. This mini-pc is fan-less and vent-less, making capable of withstanding an industrial environment.
The CL100 has two HDMI ports and a Display Port to support three separate displays, one which runs at 4K resolution. On top of that, the engineers at Logic Supply squeezed in a GB Lan connection, three USB ports (including a USB-C on the front), and an IR sensor. You can also get an optional Wifi/Bluetooth card.
CL 100 Pricing
Full of features, isn’t it? Now, let’s talk pricing.
If you get a barebone system with 2 GB of RAM, no hard drive, no wireless/Bluetooth card, no antenna or mounting, and no operating system, you will have to pay $302. (Logic Supply offers free economy shipping for orders over $250. So no extra shipping cost.
On the other end of the scale, a CL100 with 16 GB of RAM, a 250 GB SSD, a WiFi/Bluetooth card, two antennas, wall mounting, and Windows 10 Pro will cost $688. If Windows 10 is not your friend, you can also get Windows 7, Windows Embedded etc. But I believe as a Linux fan you would stay with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.
The CL100 can handle a wide range of uses from industrial to home. According to Logic Supply, the CL100 is “ideal for a wide variety of embedded applications, as an industrial workstation, digital signage player, or even a silent home theater PC.” I imagine that it would also make a great web server and personal file server.
