When you try your hands on tweaking Ubuntu Unity, you may end up messing your Compiz settings. The messed up Compiz settings can be restored by resetting the Unity. It was really easy to reset Unity in Ubuntu 12.04 but it is not that straight forward in Ubuntu 12.10 and now in Ubuntu 13.04. Let us see how can you reset Unity in Ubuntu 12.10 and 13.04 to get rid of messed up Compiz.
First of all, install dconf-tools using the following command in terminal (Ctl+Alt+T):
sudo apt-get install dconf-tools
Now to reset Compiz and Unity, use the following command:
dconf reset -f /org/compiz/
Afterwards, use the following command to restart unity:
setsid unity
Voila! You are done resetting your Unity back to normal. Enjoy :)
