Use Android Style Live Wallpapers in Ubuntu Linux

Android has this awesome feature of live wallpapers. These live wallpapers are capable of “changing” the background dynamically. It seems as if the background image is moving, changing. This Android feature is liked by many and Linux users have been eagerly looking for it to use it on their computers. Slidewall is an app that provides this Android style live wallpaper in Ubuntu.

In fact, Slidewall is a complete wallpaper app that can also be used for creating wallpaper slideshow in Ubuntu.

Install Slidewall in Ubutnu:

Use the following commands in termianl (Ctrl+Alt+T) to install Slidewall:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:fioan89/slidewall 
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install slidewall

Using Slidewall:

Using Slidewall for live wallpapers in Ubuntu is no big task. Open the application. And on the Preferences tab choose the option for “live wallpaper mode“:

In the Live Wallpapers tab, you can select some of the default live wallpapers such as live earth or a digital clock. You can also add your own custom live wallpapers here:
