Zorin OS has announced the release of version 11 today. Normally, Zorin OS has four variants, namely, Core, Lite, Business and Ultimate. At present, only Core and Ultimate versions have been included in this release.
Zorin OS is a Linux distribution based on Ubuntu. It’s mostly popular with beginners who are migrating to Linux from Windows. It’s main USP is a Windows like appearance and most Windows user find it (relatively) familiar to use.
What’s new in Zorin OS 11?
Zorin OS 11 is based on Ubuntu 15.10 and uses Linux Kernel 4.2 that has improved hardware support and performance improvements.
Quite obviously, it includes new and improved versions of the standard pre-installed applications. In addition to that, Zorin OS 11 has some new application to show off. That include a built-in Contacts manager, Clocks, that can be used to set alarms, a timer, stopwatch as well as view the time in different parts of the world.
There is also a new video player in Zorin OS 11.
This new release puts emphasis on improving the overall desktop user experience. These include some small details such as a revamped scrolling behavior, scrollbar only appears when it is needed and other such minute changes that enhance the user experience.
Theme and artwork have also been changed to make Zorin OS 11 look better.
I have never used Zorin OS so far (I will in future), but if you are a fan, you can download and install Zorin OS 11 from the link below:
