Ubuntu supports only 64-bit and ARM platforms, while Debian is kind of a Universal Operating System
Not so easy, ancient looking debian installer may confuse some users specially when it comes to handling non-free firmware
Ubuntu installer, both modern looking and straight forward, provides dual boot options too
While configurable, the FOSS focus forces Debian not to include proprietary drivers and firwares out of the box
Ubuntu provides a less hassle and more complete out of the box hardware support
Ubuntu is better than Debian for supporting proprietary drivers for a better gaming experience
Debian is a true community project, whereas Ubuntu is backed by the corporate Canonical
Both Debian and Ubuntu are solid choices. If you are new to Linux, sticking with Ubuntu will be a better choice
