Chinese gaming company SUD has made [COCOS 4 fully open source](https://itsfoss.com/news/cocos-4-game-engine/) under the MIT license. They have separated the engine from the editor too and have no particular monetization plans. [Nitrux 5.1](https://nxos.org/changelog/release-announcement-nitrux-5-1-0/?ref=itsfoss.com) ships kernel 6.18 LTS with CachyOS patches and adds Cinderward firewall GUI, Wirecloak VPN client, and power management tools. Two proposals have been put forward to [disable middle-click paste by default on GNOME and Firefox](https://itsfoss.com/news/gnome-firefox-middle-click-paste-removal/). The reasoning behind it is said to be too many accidental misclicks. Keep in mind that this is not final yet. Ubuntu 25.04 "Plucky Puffin" [reaches EOL on January 15](https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-announce/2026-January/000319.html?ref=itsfoss.com). Upgrade to [25.10](https://itsfoss.com/news/ubuntu-25-10-features/) now unless you enjoy living dangerously without security patches. Bazaar's [new release](https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2026/01/bazaar-linux-app-new-icon-other-changes?ref=itsfoss.com) added a new icon, permission warnings, and Flathub login support. You can finally sync bookmarks and filter verified apps.
