[LF India](https://lf-india.org/?ref=itsfoss.com) focuses on supporting India's [Digital Public Infrastructure](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital%5Fpublic%5Finfrastructure?ref=itsfoss.com) (*DPI*) mission through strategic membership growth and community development. This year's [Open Source Summit India](https://events.linuxfoundation.org/open-source-summit-india/program/schedule/?ref=itsfoss.com) event in [Hyderabad](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyderabad?ref=itsfoss.com), Telangana, drew packed audiences for talks about cloud native technologies, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and emerging digital infrastructure solutions. The new partnerships include [AgStack](https://agstack.org/?ref=itsfoss.com), [LF AI & Data](https://lfaidata.foundation/?ref=itsfoss.com), [FinOps Foundation](https://www.finops.org/?ref=itsfoss.com), [FINOS](https://www.finos.org/?ref=itsfoss.com), [O3DE](https://o3de.org/?ref=itsfoss.com), and [OpenInfra Foundation](https://openinfra.org/?ref=itsfoss.com). Since it's launch, LF India has supported 362 in-person meetups, 188 virtual events, and 45 active CNCF chapters. The organization has enabled new contributions in decentralized identity and secure finance through various initiatives. [GitHub data](https://github.blog/news-insights/octoverse/octoverse-2024/?ref=itsfoss.com) shows **India's developer community has grown to 17 million users**, marking 28% year-over-year growth that leads all countries. But while Indians actively use open source software, their contributions to major projects remain disproportionately low. LF India's expanded foundation portfolio now spans diverse industries such as agriculture, financial technology, game development, and industrial manufacturing. AgStack is advancing digital infrastructure for agriculture, while FINOS is driving open standards in banking technology. They have also ventured into the telecommunications space with 5G and AI through the [IOS-MCN](https://ios-mcn.org/?ref=itsfoss.com) project, as well as through LFN Platinum Member [Infosys](https://www.infosys.com/?ref=itsfoss.com)' contribution of cutting-edge AI projects [Essedum](https://essedum.org/?ref=itsfoss.com) and [Salus](https://project-salus.org/?ref=itsfoss.com) to the Linux Foundation. For developers, the organization has set up [training programs](https://training.linuxfoundation.org/training/regional-training/classes/?%5Fsft%5Fcountry=india&ref=itsfoss.com) and lab environments. The aim is **getting more Indians to contribute code to open source projects** rather than just downloading them.
